GLOW

Jess Garland, Founder of free music education non-profit, Swan Strings, released her first single, “GLOW.”

“Glow” was recorded at Klearlight Studios and released in August 2020. It has been featured on KXT 91.7 FM, KUZU 92.9 FM. The single has also been featured in the Dallas Observer and KERA’s Art & Seek.

After some of her young-adult, female identifying harp students suggested Garland listen to BJORK’s album, Vespertine, Garland was inspired to create her newest airy, harp centered release, which is grounded with somber beats and soaring vocals. This avant-garde “Ethereal Pop” single tells the story of a young maiden during her transition to womanhood, as Garland’s lyrics were largely inspired by an abusive marriage that ended in divorce. She hopes the song is inspirational for anyone overcoming adversities. “Current events are challenging but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and we have to keep moving forward.”
